Hi,

Do you native speakers use or know about this proverb "A blind man is no judge of colours"[FONT=arial, sans-serif]?[/FONT]
 
Nor do I. It's obviously true, but it's not a proverb.

What makes you think it is?
 
It's a Hindi proverb. Can you please google it?
 
We don't need to Google it. We believe you. Just because it's an Indian proverb, there's no reason to think it's directly translatable into English. What meaning does it have in Indian? When would you use it?
 
The meaning is clear enough, but I have never heard anyone use it in BrE. It might sound better in English if you said no judge of colour, though I doubt that there would be much take-up of a proverb about blindness nowadays.
