Please check the following sentence.

You can take a ferry boat to go sightseeing around the harbor and enjoy the beautiful scenery along the river.

A boat in which we go sightseeing is not usually called a ferry boat.
 
You can take a boat to go sightseeing around the harbor and enjoy the beautiful scenery along the river.
