The problem of poorly trained teachers that has plagued the state public school is bound to become a good deal less serious in the future.
From the context, I infer that the meaning of "a good deal less serious" is "reducing the seriousness to a good extend". Is this a standard idiom?
Preparing well for the exam obviates last minute anxieties and the probability of getting a subnormal score will become a good deal less serious.
Having become a good deal less serious, no one bothered much about polio.
Are these usages correct? Should it always precede by "become"?
I highly appreciate, if you can correct any other mistakes in the above writing.
