Consider this sentence of mine, please:

(1) He has been put in a little awkward situation.

Is "situation" here a countable noun? I mean, are we saying: He has been put in a situation that is a little awkward? In other words, does the article "a" apply to "situation", "little" or both?

A similar sentence in context

Minaj said on her Apple Music Beats 1 radio show Queen Radio on Thursday, according to E! News. “She has been put in a little awkward situation, but this isn’t real life—this is entertainment. I love Kylie and so do my fans.”

It's ambiguous.

It's ambiguous.
Sorry, it's not clear to me. What is ambiguous? Is it the fact that the word "situation" is a countable noun in post#1 and post#4?

He has been put in a little awkward situation.

a. he has been put in a small, awkward situation.
b. He has been put in a situation that is a little awkward.
