[Grammar] a recent story

Is the following sentence acceptable?

Huang Chunming , a senior Taiwanese literary figure and teacher, talked about a recent story about him.

It's OK, but I would prefer, ".........talked about him in a recent story".

The way I read it, Huang Chunming had recently read a story about himself and is now talking about that story. If that is the case, then your sentence is fine.
 
The original meaning of the sentence is as written. I tried to rewrite the sentence as written. Is it acceptable?

1. Huang Chnming is a senior Taiwanese literary figure and teacher.
2. Recently, something happened to him.
3. He talked about the event that upset him.
Huang Chun-ming, a senior Taiwanese literary figure and teacher, recently had something happen to him which upset him and which he talked about.
