Can I use "an easy question" or ”a light question“ when I want to say "a relaxing question" in the sentence below?

Begin by having some relaxing and short conversations with friends.

Sorry, just reedited my question.

I have never heard of a relaxing question or a light question before, and neither phrase is in your sentence.

I don't recommend that you use either one.

What would a relaxing question be-- a question that relaxes you? 🤔

Yes, conversation goes with easy/light/relaxing, but there's no such thing as a relaxing question.

I wouldn't use "relaxing conversation" either. You could say "I enjoyed a relaxed conversation with a friend". That indicates that it was a nice, casual conversation in which nothing particular serious or important was discussed.

Going back to the original, in which you used "question", you could say something like "Start with some simple questions". That would work if you were advising someone how to start a conversation with a young child or with someone who isn't a native speaker of the language the questioner will use.

I'm okay with 'relaxing conversation'. It's the conversation itself which relaxes you, which is slightly different than a 'relaxed' conversation. Of course some might find a relaxed conversation relaxing.

I concur that 'relaxing question' doesn't really work, however.

Hello there, can I use “an easy conversation” or “a light conversation” to express that a conversation that relaxes me? Many thanks.

You could use "light conversation" to indicate you're not talking about serious subjects.

You could also say "casual conversation".

You can say them, but they don't necessarily mean they relax you. An easy conversation just means that the conversation isn't difficult. That could mean many different things. Perhaps it means it's not a challenge for your language skills, or it doesn't raise difficult intellectual, ethical, or moral questions. Perhaps it wasn't emotionally difficult. Many other possibilities exists as to what makes it "easy'". None of them automatically mean they relax you.

Light conversation just means that the conversation was about mundane or unimportant topics. Again, that doesn't necessarily mean it's relaxing. You could probably used 'light conversation' and 'relaxed conversation' as synonyms, but again neither is necessarily relaxing.
