The original sentence is from a book.
More details, please refer as follows:
"In the narrow ravine a rough path descended like a steep stair into the plain"

Does it mean the path is going to original as natural road?:-|

I checked out every words in dictionaries.But, when I tried to put all the words together, I don't understand what the sentence mean...

Your answer is fine. The dictionary was told me that the word "stair" in my native language mean "樓梯".

But, I still don't understand the sentence mean.

I think it means that the path was very steep, like a stairway, and went down to the plain, but I am not a teacher.

the word "stair" in my native language mean "樓梯".
Please note that Rover_KE cannot read Chinese.
