Is there a word for a movie/series that's more appropriate for children and teenagers than adults?

What can I use to fill in the blank?

I saw two episodes of the series. It's a ... series/show. I mean it's more appropriate for children and teenagers than adults. The characters are simple and the action scenes have been watered down. Even the soundtrack is childlike.

I would just say it's not for grownups.

With simple characters and a childlike soundtrack (whatever that is), it doesn't sound like it's for teens. I'd just call it a kids' show.
