"Above all bugs, my sister detests millipedes the most because they are so disgusting." (100個一定要會的英文字根)

What does "above all bugs" mean? Is it incorrect? I think it should be revised to "among all bugs." Am I right?

It's not right, and it suggests that the speaker's sister is a bug!
I would say: "My sister detests millipedes, out of all bugs, because they are so disgusting".
Just for the record, I have nothing against millipedes, centipedes or other such creatures. I think they're great, in fact.

The "out" can be omitted, can't it?

Perhaps:

My sister hates bugs. She hates millipedes the most.
