I don't know in the English-speaking world, but over here, when you are pretentious enough to point out certain syntax/grammar mistakes to the person/people who wrote the paper, the answer usually is something like "Look, I'm an expert on Bio-molecular Changes in Single-cell Organisms Exposed to Gamma Ray (change to whatever other topic you might think about), and that's the way we say it". So there.

... and said with the same justification as a doctor saying to his patient, "Vide. Curabitur in medicina. Sic enim loquimur!" ("Look, I trained in Medicine. That's how we speak!"*)

*Not actually true any more.
