I learned "across" and "across from" are different. And "across from" is the synonym of "opposite" like these.
a) The post office is across the street
b) The post office is opposite the station.
= c) The post office is across from the station.
If so, do you think c) is could convey the same meaning as d) sentence as below?
d) The post office is across the street from the station.
