Not all sleepwalkers actually walk. Some simply sit up or stand in bed or act like they’re awake (but dazed) when, in fact, they’re asleep! Most, however, do get up and move around for a few seconds or for as long as half an hour.

In this sentence, I think ‘act like’ means ‘act as if’. Should ‘they’re awake’ be ‘they were awake’ because ‘as if’ requires to use the subjunctive mood after it?

It looks fine as written. Since it's phrased in the present tense — there are — I don't think the subjunctive mood applies.

But I'm not a grammarian. Let's see what a teacher says.
