adverb with gerund

My question is whether we can use an adverb with a gerund, just like the example above.

It is possible to use an adverb with a gerund:

I like sipping beer slowly.

I think your particular example sounds a little unnatural, possibly because of the past tense and the perfect gerund coming together, and/or the thought that one doesn't often reluctantly ignore something.
