Have I made any mistakes?

After having worked for more than twenty years on a car assembly plant, David had had enough and decided to find another job.

I would disagree with RobertJ's response of "Yes" to "Have I made any mistakes?" I don't think there are any mistakes but I have a few observations:

1. I'd use either "at a car assembly plant" or "on a car assembly line".
2. I think I've mentioned this before but it's a little more natural to say "for over twenty years".
3. Most people would give the location of the job before the length of employment but your construction isn't wrong.
4. My only query is whether you had a particular reason for using "After having worked" at the start rather than "After working ...".

emsr2d2,

Thank you again for your corrections and advice.
I had no particular reason for using "After having worked". These words were the first that came up in my mind.
I don't understand what is the difference between "after having worked" and "after working"

Would this version be correct?
After working over twenty years at a car assembly plant, David had had enough and decided to find another job.

Precisely what I meant. One does not work ON a plant. I personally think that that is a mistake. One works ON an assembly line.

Fair enough! Because you didn't go on to tell Bassim what the error was, I wondered if you had assumed the question was "Are my sentences grammatically correct?" as is the case with most other posts (not Bassim's, admittedly). Apologies.
