The context: Let's imagine that a teacher asks during an IELST examination - Describe a time when you had to deal with an aggressive animal. My answer is - I walk my sheltie when a large brown Dalmatian with spots often tries to attack him, Both dogs are usually off the leash. This forces me to drive the bigger dog away and say "no" to him to stop the agression. This situation repeats quite regularly during our walk.

Does my English sound natural?
What IELTS band would you give it?

The prompt is "Describe a time when you had to ...". You need to describe a single incident, using the appropriate verb forms. Try again.
