Hello.

Is "ahead" used correctly in my sentence?
"I have never been on a long flight. I went to Germany. It was just four hours. The longest flight is ahead."
By "ahead" I mean I am going to fly to the USA which is going to be the longest flight. The person who I am talking to knows about my plans.

"I have never been on a long-haul flight. I went to Germany[STRIKE]. It[/STRIKE] but that [STRIKE]was[/STRIKE] took just four hours. [STRIKE]The[/STRIKE] My longest flight is [STRIKE]ahead[/STRIKE] coming up."

By "ahead", I mean I am going to fly to the USA which is going to be the longest flight I have ever taken. The person who I am talking to knows about my plans.

See above for corrections and how I would word your sentence. Flights are generally referred to as "short-haul" and "long-haul" (not just "short" and "long"). "Ahead" isn't wrong but it sounds awkward used on its own in the way you used it. To include it, I might end with "... longest flight is still ahead of me".

Thank you. I used it because I found "the longest flight" here
