Hi,

I would like to know if I can use this expression: "air my complaints" in a letter of complaint, for example, "I am writing to air my complaints about the very poor service that I received at your restaurant".

Thanks,

Yes, you could. It would be more natural, though, to write "I am writing to complain about..."

I agree- it's more of a descriptive term, so I wouldn't use it in a complaint but when talking about a complaint I made, or an opportunity to make one.

Thank you very much for your help.
