I'm just new here.

I just want to ask.

What is the verb should follow by the word "always"? Should it be simple tense of verb?

Here I go, is this correct,

"It always makes me laugh when people bring their issues on Yahoo."

But the verb tense that follows the adverb always can vary. ex:

- They always played together when they were kids.

- I've always tried to figure it out.

- quoting Mr. Presley "you were always on my mind".;-)

So, meaning, any verb that follows after the word "always" will always be a simple tense of verb regardless the subject being used? Is that you mean to say? But I guess, I'm wrong......"it" is a singular subject..............I don't know I'm really confused. I just remembered it by my Professor that the main verb should be a simple tense of verb whenever we used the "always." Sigh.

Hi there. Actually, the sentence that I attached was not originally mine. I was about to prove that saying "always" the main verb must be in simple tense of verb as said in my reply to SoothingDave.
