am going or will go

Can anyone tell me which sentence is correct?

A.)I am going to visit my dentist this Friday.
B.)I will go to visit my dentist this Friday.

I think A is correct. Because I already have a plan to visit my dentist.

Either is OK. Plus 'go to' in sentence B would be redundant.
