Which one is correct?

a. Amazon pygmies consider their songs an extremely important part of their culture.
b. Amazon pygmies consider their songs as an extreme and important part of their culture.

I'd choose a. However, I have no idea about the accuracy of b.


And tell me your opinion about this one. It sounds correct to me:

c. In diving competitions, women perform dive the same way as men do. ( I'd re-write this one in this way: In diving competitions, women perform the same dive as men do.)

"Amazon pygmies consider their songs [to be] an extremely important part of their culture." That's the meaning.
You can consider X as Y, but that isn't the meaning here. To consider X as Y, you have to assume (or suppose, or deem) that X is Y, and then consider it from that point of view.
1. "The songs of the Amazonian pygmies are not musically sophisticated. However, considered as an extremely important part of their culture, they have enormous value."

2. "Or consider this sentence as another example: ..."
Note that the above sentence is not telling you to consider it to be another example (although it is one, and you should accept it as one). It's telling you to look at the sentence as another example and consider it from that viewpoint.

PS: I should add that most native speakers wouldn't differentiate between these, and would use "consider it as ..." to have the same meaning as "consider it to be ...", and there is some overlap, as in this short dialogue:

A: "Oh, I couldn't accept such an expensive gift!"
B: "Consider it as/to be a reward for the help you have given me."
