Could you explain what "Ant n' deck" means in this newspaper headline? The writer goes on to say "on the box", usually I hear the commentator say "in the box", is the "on" or "in" interchangeable in this case?
Ant and Dec are a popular duo of presenters on British TV. The Sun's headline is a pun – and a bad one, because whilst 'Ant' refers to Manchester United's new signing, Anthony, it's unclear (to me) what they mean by 'dec'.
' … on the box’ means ‘on TV’, as the report states.
