Hi

What is the word to describe the occurence of something which doesn't happen successively or consecutively? For example, if
something happens between one day in between (you play tennis on Friday, then again on Sunday, then Tuesday, so on). Is it "alternate"? Please help me with it. Thank you.

You can say: occasionally, sometimes, at times, from time to time, once in a while, periodically etc.

Yes, you play on alternate days, or every other day.

(I wouldn't say it's an antonym, though.)

Thank you, SirGod, Barb.

Best wishes
Jackson

every other day
in an every-other-day format

intermittent, I guess?

The only antonym of consecutive is non-consecutive.
