"He is both good and bad, as do we all."

Is it grammatically correct to use “do“ here“?
Is it more appropriate to say "as are we all“?
Thanks.

It's only correct with "are" in this sentence.

Where did you see that sentence, masterding?

This is what Donald Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen said at at House hearing.
Michael Cohen: "Mr.trump is an enigma. He is complicated, as am I. He is both good and bad, as do we all. But the bad far outweights the good."

Maybe he meant to say:

He has both good and bad qualities, as do we all.

masterding, in future threads, please put context like this in post #1.

See my corrections above.

When people speak, they don't always think ahead (or even remember how they started a sentence). Slips like this are quite common especially when one is speaking under pressure.

I have just looked at the transcript of his statement. It appears that he said "He has both good and bad, as do we all". If that is indeed what he said, then "as do we all" is correct.

Edit: This is where I read the transcript.

Yes, I find that much more likely. I'm very confident that that is what the speaker really said.

Although it is of course possible for a native speaker to make major grammatical errors, I find it very hard to imagine such a major mistake in a sentence such as this.
