Sure teacher. Sorry about that. I didn't know about this rule.

What does unfold mean here? Is the definition #2a correct?
It just means "happen".
It could have read, "remains to be seen in the future", or simply "remains to be seen".

The effects ("effect" would be better) that social sites will have on [strike]the[/strike] our social relationships and sense of safety remain (if you use "effect" earlier, this needs to be "remains") to [STRIKE]bee[/STRIKE] be seen asthe future unfolds.

See above.

What's the source of your quote? Are you sure you copied it correctly? I'd expect the definite article before 'future' - "as the future unfolds".

To answer your questions, yes, you're correct about definition 2a.

What's the source of your quote?
Words for IELTS.
Are you sure you copied it correctly?
Actually, Not.

I'd expect the definite article before 'future' - "as the future unfolds".
I found that those mistakes made on my own. The sentence in the book written as you and Emsr2d2 suggested except for "effects". Those were my mistakes. Sorry and thanks for correcting me.

To answer your questions, yes, you're correct about definition 2a.
Thanks so much.
