Hi
What is the actual meaning of "as of now". I have seen it is being used in totally opposite contexts.
1. As of now, her tumor remains untreated. this implies her disease has not been cured till date.(?)
2. As of now, I will never talk to Sam.. Means from now onwards i will never talk to sam.

Is both the usage correct? Please correct me if i am wrong.
TIA

I have seen "as of now" used both to mean "at the present time" and "starting now" in colloquial English. That is not to say that both are correct and I would favour the first meaning.

Because of the potential for ambiguity it is a phrase that I avoid using.

Hi
What is the actual meaning of "as of now"?

Depending on context, it can mean from this time backward or forward.

Backward: up to this moment, so far: As of now, she hasn't written.

Forward: beginning now, from this time forward: As of now, you're grounded.

I have seen it [STRIKE]is being[/STRIKE] used in totally opposite contexts.

1. As of now, her tumor remains untreated. This implies her disease has not been cured yet.

2. As of now, I will never talk to Sam. This means from now on I will never talk to Sam.

Are both [STRIKE]the usage[/STRIKE] correct?

Yes.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

TIA
You're not wrong.

But I agree with the others that it usually means starting now, going forward. The other use is not as common.
