I was "assigned/entrusted/commissioned" personally to provide the full package simultaneous conference interpreting service including rental of equipment and hiring of interpreters and sound engineers.

Which word fits better "assigned" or "entrusted" or "commissioned" in this context?

Wow! That's very formal for a social media post. Here's how it would look if that were my social media profile:

Woo hoo - got a job! Going to be providing interpreting, equipment hire, staffing and who knows what else for a [type of event]! Can't wait!

Obviously, I've gone to the other end of the extreme and made it very casual but I think you need something between the two.

Calling it an insult feels a little dramatic, but yes, it is uncourteous to waste the time of volunteers who want to use their time efficiently by helping people who need it the most. I think everyone here understands that wasting people's time is not your intention, but nevertheless we might feel that way. Often, the people providing answers will want to know if you've already received a similar answer somewhere else so they can focus more specifically on what might still be unclear for you.
