[Grammar] at around/around

Hi,
I am not sure if this question has been asked before but can you please clear my doubt?

i) I reached here at around 10 a.m.
ii) I reached here around 10 a.m.

I was told that the second sentence is correct? The use of 'at' is not necessary. Is it true? Why?

"At" is unnecessary, though that does not mean it's incorrect. Also, you are far more likely to hear a native speaker use "arrived" or "got" in this sentence than you would "reached".
