at the intersection or on the intersection

I came across these two phrases 'at the intersection' and 'on the intersection'? Are they different?
 
I am familiar with at the intersection and not the other one. If you could show me the context in which you saw them I could give you more of an opinion.

I saw them in movies.

Turn right on the next intersection.
At the next intersection,
turn right.
