I find it hard to figure out what the word is : "get to grips with ..... based teams 2024 challenger". Can somebody tell me what the word is?
And, I also feel confused about this sentence, that if "get to grips with" means "to try to understand and deal with a problem" (I searched on the Internet), how can someone "get to grips" with a team? I'm not sure whether I get it correct or not, so I'm sincerely wanting to hear from you guys ;w;

(By the way it's my first time to ask a question on a English learning forum, so I'm really sorry to bother you with my awkward English QwQ If my English is not idiomatic, please let me know!)

to get to grips with the Brackley-based team's 2024 challenger

The headquarters of the Mercedes team are in Brackley. The word challenger refers to the car, and 'get to grips with' means something like 'get used to (driving)'. He has the whole day to practise driving the new Mercedes W-15.
