Avail myself of a Concession

As a government servant, I am entitled to Leave Travel Concession (LTC). So, should I write in the letter to the head of the institution that he should "allow me to avail myself of a leave travel concession"?
Is there any better way of saying that? can I use "grant" for the same?

If it’s an entitlement, a simple phone call should suffice. Why do you need to write to him?

I'd like to take advantage of my LTC entitlement. Please let me know what I need to do.
I'd like to use my LTC entitlement. What do I need to do know?
