bob down?

I'm not sure if this is right?

If you're the photographer and you see a guy in the front row is blocking another person at the back, do you say
"can you bob down a bit?"

Is that the right verb? I thought I heard this somewhere but when I check the dictionaries, bob has no such meaning.

I think it is right, look at this definition that i found at a website :

If you bob somewhere, you move there quickly so that you disappear from view or come into view.

And look at the sentence:

She handed over a form, then bobbed down again behind a typewriter.
 
A "bob" is a motion that has you go down and up quickly. You want to ask them to "duck" a bit.
 
Again, I agree with Barb, but if you ask somebody to bob down, they'll understand they've to stay down until the photo has been taken.

If you want dictionary confirmation, one or two of those listed HERE state that you can bob down without coming straight back up again.
