Is the furniture shown a bookshelf to you? Or probably a bookcase or bookshelves?
 
I'd call it a bookcase. The one in the picture consists of three bookshelves and a top shelf. You wouldn't put books on the very top one of the four because it has no ends and the books would fall off (unless you happen to own bookends, of course).
 
Yes, "bookcase" is better.

Also, a "power point" is a presentation made in Microsoft's software. It's a power outlet.

"Power point" works in BrE, or "plug socket". Microsoft's product is "PowerPoint" (one word, with two capitals).
