What does "boots of fear" mean?
Is it an idiom or a literary expression?

He was in the forest. He saw a bear. Suddenly, boots of fear were upon his feet.

It doesn't sound like any idiom or expression I've ever heard of. I don't much like the sound of it either. It probably means he started quaking in terror or ran away.

That's the second unnatural expression you have come up with today. They both sound as if they might be literal translations from some other language. Where did you find them?
