Compound adjective

My friends and I were having some banter and one of them said "brain-rotten monkey" is this correct? Shouldn't it be rotted?

What kind of a sentence would I (or anyone) use that phrase in?

"Take it seriously you brain-rotten monkey" that's exactly what my friend said to my other friend while playing a game and having some banter.

That's funny! I wouldn't change it.

Although I've never encountered either term, both brain-rotten and brain-rotted seem equally valid to me.

I've never encountered either term, and recommend you don't use them.

Instead, use the perfectly standard word brainless to mean 'foolish' or'stupid'.

You might also hear "braindead" + noun. (It's sometimes written as "brain-dead" as an adjective.) For example, someone might say "Don't do that, you brain-dead idiot!" It's not very PC these days because of the possibility of offending the families of someone who is actually (medically) brain dead.

The compound would normally be 'rotten-brained', but I think your friend got away with it quite nicely.
