Hi. What's the difference between these sentences? Which one is correct?
1. I will finish my homework until 5.
2. I Will finish my homework by 5.

#1 is wrong. Do you know what "until" means? Can you give us a typical sentence using "until" and explain it?

#2 means you will finish the homework at or before 5.

Number two has a capitalization error but is otherwise correct.

#1. With "until", it should be "I won't finish.....".

Small numbers should be written in words.

Small numbers should be written in words.

That's generally true, but with times it's more natural to use the number and then use "am" or "pm". If it's a casual message and the reader already knows whether you're talking about morning or afternoon, I don't have a problem with just using "5".

Everybody knows that using figures to write the time has been the norm, e.g. 5 o'clock or 5.00 pm.

But with writing a figure alone as in "finish homework at 5" in a narrative looks a bit odd to me.

Native English-speakers are used to it.
