If "to me" modifies "taxi driver," it means I am the destination to which Mom is driving the taxi.
I think it means I am the one for whom Mom is driving the taxi.

But the use of the to is less like the preposition and more like the marker of the indirect object, as in: I gave the flowers to Mom.
Having read the post below, I think 'Mom' could be the object of the preposition 'to' instead of the indirect object of 'gave'.

Actually, I thought that was exactly what you meant by "I think you should have noticed that I often write unnatural sentences".
'I think you should have noticed that Piscean often makes typos.'
Would you think it means he does that intentionally?

I can't remember the reason but it might be worth trying again.
The reason was that I had got used to writing the but-clause in question, but I have just moved it to my signature line so as not to irritate people again.

Of course not but that is because a typo ("typographical error" is the full form) is specifically an accidental error in writing. You can't make a typo intentionally. If you do it on purpose, then you misspell it.
