Change sentences

Part 1: I need to change 3 sentences. I need to change the words within the sentence. It should still mean the same.

1. [FONT=&quot]Once upon a time I lost my parents in Spain. In spain when I was 8 years old, I got lost from my parents.

2. [/FONT][FONT=&quot]This experience have helped me to develop my responsibility of myself.

3. This event have helped me to develop my patience.

I need help to change this sentences into other words, but it should still mean the same.

Part 2: The second part is that these sentences above is my 3 of my sentences in my essay. And I need to summarize those sentences and put it in the introduction. I also need help with that
