Hello!

Commercially purchased or purchased commercially?

I have seen both of these used. I suppose it depends on the context...?

What if my sentence is : "These culture media were commercially purchased".

Thank you very much!

The sentence doesn't make much sense, but the adverb in it should follow the past participle.

Ah, so "purchased commercially" it is then!

Yet, it somehow doesn't sound right to me.

Thank you!

Either way is fine. But the folks above are right. The sentence makes no sense. What are culture media?

Culture media contain nutrients like glucose and yeast extract, and are used to cultivate organisms (bacteria, fungi, etc.) in a laboratory. Think microbiology. They can be liquid or gelatinous*. There are different kinds. You can make your own or you can order some already made, especially if you wish to grow microorganisms that have particular nutritional needs.
