Conditional sentences

I have lots of grammar books. One of them says that we use conditional sentences (type 1) with "If + infinitive + may / might / can / will" another book says "If + infinitive + may / will / can" What's the problem with "may and might" ?

The best way to search for previous threads is to go to the very top of the page and click on Search ​next to 'Google Custom Search'.

When 'Google Custom Search' appears again, type 'May/might' in the long empty box and then Search again.

(Before the forum was 'improved' we only needed one step to do this rather than two.)
