Confuse the use of articles

Or

Laptop, computer and internet are the examples of modern means of communication.


I am confused with the use of articles.:-(

The laptop, the computer and the internet are the examples of modern means of communication.

You use 'the' to refer to the items as 'modern items of invention'.
Other example:
Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone. (not 'a telephone' or 'telephone')
