Yes, it is correct. But it is not generally used followed by "or listen to me".
I suppose your teacher means something like, "You are behaving as if you know more than I do. So please either tell me where I am wrong, or be quiet and try to learn something from me".

Correct me if I am wrong is frequently used when the speaker is fairly sure that s/he is not wrong. It can be a mock-humble, mock-polite way of pointing out that somebody has made a silly mistake:

Bill: New York is the capital of the USA.
Fred: Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Washington was the capital of the USA.
