Correct sentences

Hi, would anyone please correct these sentences for me.
1)It is considered to be an important part in the house because they greet their guests in this room and they make their coffee here.

2)He placed the coffee on the fire not on the stove.
or
He prepared the coffee on the fire not on the stove.

3)We usually use these jugs for boiling water then we use this water for making coffee or tea.
or
These jugs are usually used for boiling water and making coffee or tea.

4)Even though this kind of radios is very old, but there are some people looking for to buy and use.
OR
Even though this kind of radio is very old-fashioned, some people still buy and use them.

None of these sentences are very elegant, but there's not much syntactically wrong with most of them.
Which bits do you think need correcting?
