[Grammar] Correct usage of me or my

'To swim is to keep fit.'
Both infinitives function as nouns. The former is the subject; the latter, the object.
I am not a teacher. Please correct me if I am wrong.
 
The second infinitive is not the object. The verb is a linking verb. That makes the second infinitive a predicate nominative.
 
Yes, it is a transitive verb. Just like the gerund "swimming", "to swim" (the infinitive) is a noun and acts as the direct object of the verb "like". Unlike gerunds, however, infinitives can also function as adverbs or adjectives, so you will see them in other uses.

Can you come up with an example of an infinitive used after an intransitive verb?


I happened to see him.

I went to study.

I get to go.
