I have questions
I'm writing essay and I'm confusing in these sentences

can I say " Previous works have shown that....." I mean can I say previous works or it should be work?

" after the calcution, values for average.....? " can I say values for or I should say values of

" the techniques are not known apriori...?" there is a word in english apriori or it must be a priori???

" when the total increase,............." can I say increase or increases??

" in recent work (1,3,5),..........." can I say recent work or it should be recent works??

I hope that you can help me

thanks alot

Welcome to the board, Sara.

More context is needed to answer questions 1 and 2 - at least full sentences rather then fragments.

3. a priori

4. increases

5. works (if those three numbers refer to separate works)

1) You'd probably be better off using 'studies' instead of work. Also, I'd cut the 'previous.'
2) ?
3) A priori but I wouldn't use it as it's latin and not too commonly used in English. I'd use prior to instead.
4) It depends. If you're talking about the total increasing then it's increases. If you're talking about the increase when everything's added together it's the total increase.
5) works.

thanks alot for your reply
