Could someone educate me on which one of the following is the correct form and why

a) Many a man have died
or
b) Many a man has died

Could someone educate me on which one of the following is the correct form and why

a) Many a man have died
or
b) Many a man has died

"Many a man" = third person singular, so "has died" is correct. "Many men" = third person plural, so "have died" would be correct.
"Many a man has died" or "Many men have died".
