Is there an idiom in English similar to the following explanation. We will cross the sea, desert, or even isolated areas to do something like go to war or fulfill a certain commitment, such as defending the country. It is more about enduring hardships just to please someone else, like a king or one's country."

I don't know of an exact parallel but we have a couple of somewhat similar expressions: "Go the extra mile", an idiom, and "beyond the call of duty". Both imply that more effort was exerted than was strictly necessary.

Thank you. I found two similar equivalent.

1-Go to great lengths .
2- Move heaven and earth.

The idioms you wrote :

3-Beyond the call of duty

4-Go the extra mile

And also. 5-Go/ went above and beyond.

1,2,3 seem to share similar meanings, I think the above idioms used when one is making a great and considerable efforts to someone/ something like county. As for number 4 and 5 , I guess they don't necessarily mean a great effort made to someone.

Again thank you for your contribution. What do you think?

I like and agree with both your numbers 1 and 2.

Note my changes above. Also, for info, BrE uses "fulfil".
