Dear all,

What is the meaning of the expression "deliver on the day" in the following context:
[LOTS OF PRESSURE ON ME BUT I THRIVED ON THE PRESSURE, STEPPED UP TO ALL THE EXPECTATION AND DELIVERED ON THE DAY AND THAT WAS JUST A FAIRYTALE NIGHT ]

That was said by a biker (talking about on of the races)

Thanks a lot.

It means he performed satisfactorily (delivered [the goods]) when it mattered (on the day).
