[Grammar] Despite+Present Perfect Continious.

Can you please tell me if the use of 'despite' and the 'tense of the sentence' are correct?

Despite having been living in this city for a long time,I can not get used to severe climate conditions of this city.
 
I would say: "Despite having lived in this city for a long time, I cannot get used to the climate."
