No, the former is better.
 
No. This is clumsy and unnatural: "Try not to deviate too much from speaking from the prepared text."
 
The act of reading is done by holding the script.
An actor cannot be reading the script/text while acting. It is more likely that he recites the script from memory.
 
I think radio actors and movie actors read the text and speak the text respectively in a play, but I am not a teacher.
