This is an entry from my diary. Please check it and correct any mistakes.

Yesterday, I hung out with my friends and used a public toilet. It was so stinky that I gagged. Unfortunately, there were no other toilets around so I held the smell. I regretted using the toilet because the nightmare followed was that I felt nauseated for the rest of the day. Every time I ate something, I recalled the smell.

Yesterday, while I hung was hanging out with my friends, I and used had to use a public toilet. It was so stinky that I gagged. Unfortunately, there were no other toilets around so I held put up with the smell. I regretted using the toilet because the nightmare followed was that I felt nauseated for the rest of the day. Every time I ate something, I recalled the smell.
See above. Well done for using "nauseated" instead of "nauseous". A lot of native English speakers get those two words mixed up.

Every time I ate something, I recalled the smell.
To recall something is a deliberate action, which I don't think it was. I think you mean you couldn't help thinking about the smell, or you could say "the smell springs to mind"

Whilst I agree that "recall" can refer to a deliberate action, it's also used in place of "remember". To use your final phrase, it would have to be "the smell sprang to mind" to fit with "Every time I ate something". However, it's not natural to say that a smell "springs to mind".
